The administrative staff was cordial and efficient. Judge Daniel D'Alessandro delivered an informative and masterful welcoming address. The instructional video was excellent. Judge Mitzy Galin-Menendez was highly organized and very informative as to what was expected and required of jurors. Even the jury selection process worked well; after making it to the jury box, I was later excused by the prosecutor for unknown reasons. All in all it was a good experience which enhanced my appreciation for the work of the Hudson County Superior Court.
So I went to file eviction papers for a non paying tenant at the Superior Court. This is by far an example of governmental waste. you are sent from place to place. so for those who hate convoluted processes. you will need 5 copies of the Tenancy Summons and Return of Service (R.6:2-1) which you can download online or go to room 201 or room 118. then you go to the Treasurer to pay the fee. They don't take debit so you need a check and don't give them cash unless you forget like I did my checkbook why? because they may not have change. She clerk wouldn't process my papers because she need to give me back $19 because the fee was $61 and all I had was $80. They have an ATM now and the cost is $56 to $61 depending how may people need to be served. If you have a married couple they need to be served for $61. I have been going to this place for years and it has never improved. The duplication of services is because they must have no other role for these Clerks of the Special Civil Part.
